Hair Removal - Light sheer module

How does the Lumenis One Lightsheer laser system work?
The primary principle behind laser hair removal is selective photothermolysis.  Lasers remove hair by selectively heating pigment in the area of hair growth while not heating the rest of the skin.  The Lumenis One Lightsheer laser system emits near-infrared laser light that is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicle. The laser is pulsed, or turned on, for only a fraction of a second. The duration of each pulse is just long enough to damage the follicle, while the system's unique, patented contact-cooling hand piece, the ChillTip, helps protect the skin by cooling the skin during the delivery of laser energy.

Does the Lumenis One LightSheer work on tanned or different skin colors?
The Lumenis One LightSheer diode laser system safely and effectively treats all skin types as well as tanned skin. There are six different skin types called Fitzpatrick Skin Types I - VI.  For darker skin types and people with tans, energy output is generally lower and time between laser pulses generally longer to prevent damage to the skin. Using the appropriate treatment parameters, however, people with all skin types can benefit from laser hair removal the Lumenis One Lightsheer.

Are the Results Permanent?
The Lumenis One LightSheer laser has been cleared by the FDA for hair removal and permanent hair reduction on all skin types and tanned skin.  To achieve a satisfactory level of clearance, 4 - 6 treatments are typically required.

IPL Skin Treatments module

What are IPL Skin Treatments using Photo rejuvenation?
Intense Pulse Light, or IPL, is a new and exciting way to improve and rejuvenate the skin.  Unlike a laser, which emits one specific wavelength of light, IPL emits a broad spectrum of light with each pulse.  The broad spectrum of light in each pulse allows us to treat a variety of skin imperfections at the same time.  IPL improves the appearance of photo aged skin, removes age spots (sun-induced freckles), removes most benign brown pigments, and reduces redness caused by broken capillaries.  These treatments give the skin a smoother, more even tone.  IPL Skin Treatments using Photo rejuvenation help restore a more youthful appearance without the downtime of traditional surgery.

Are people satisfied with the results of this gentler, more delicate approach?
IPL Skin Treatments have a very high measure of patient satisfaction. Patients are usually quite pleased with treatment results.  Furthermore the process treats the full face, neck, chest or hands, rather than addressing a single isolated area or imperfection. With a series of treatments, IPL technology can help restore a more youthful appearance with very little downtime or the prolonged recovery necessary after other types of treatments.

What is possible?
The most common application of IPL is a skin rejuvenation technique known as FotoFacial (also Photo Facial). This treatment affords a greater than 70 percent improvement in the signs of sun damage (redness, brown spots, etc). There may also be some improvement in wrinkles, pore size and flushing. An entire zone, such as the face, is treated during each treatment.   The sessions are scheduled every 3-4 weeks.  Usually the treated skin stays red for 1-3 days and there may be a little bruising.  Brown spots that have been treated usually flake off within 5-7 days.  Most people can go back to work immrdiately.  In addition, IPL may be used with different parameters for a variety of other conditions such as port-wine stains, hemangiomas, brown spots, scars, blood vessels, rosacea, acne and more.

How does IPL work?
The basis of IPL treatment is the destruction of abnormal vessels or unwanted discolorations by absorption of light energy without damaging surrounding tissue.  This is known as selective photothermolysis. IPL targets a precise dosage of intense photo-thermal energy at a specific structure, to achieve selective destruction of that structure.

What are the side effects?
Redness is typical and bruising can sometimes occur. Serious side effects such as scarring or discoloration are extremely rare with the Lumenis One due to the numerous safety features.

Can I tan and still havr IPL treatments?
No.  It is important that a person avoid tanning the area to be treated for approximately three weeks before treatment.  Failure to head this warning can result in discoloration of the treated area.

Leg vein - Nd:YAG module

What are the advantages of Lumenis' One Nd:YAG technology?
Lumenis proprietary Nd:YAG technology can selectively heat blood vessels of different sizes and depths. The technology allows the energy to be virtually invisible to the skin pigment, protecting the skin and allowing treatment of tanned skin and all skin types. The sapphire cooled Nd:YAG treatment head increases patient comfort.  Multiple spot sizes allow for accurate targeting of vessels anywhere on the body including larger vessels on the face.

How does high-tech laser/light technology compare to traditional sclerotherapy?
The laser technology offers important benefits over injection therapy. The laser allows for treatment of large leg veins as well small spider vessels that are often too small to inject.  In addition, laser / light therapy is fast, less painful, and minimally invasive, doesn’t require needles, and does not require compression wrapping.

Skin tightening – Aluma radiofrequency module

  • Radio Frequency Technology: Proven in clinical studies to improve skin texture and laxity
  • Bipolar RF Delivery: Precisely controls and limits the amount of tissue heated.
  • Gentle: Low risk, virtually pain-free wrinkle removal that is easily tolerated without anesthesia.
  • No Downtime: Innovative FACES technology bypasses the top layer of skin. Patients return to normal activities immediately.
  • Rapid treatment. A typical treatment takes 45 minutes.
  • Safe: Suction hand piece focuses laser energy precisely where it has the maximum effect. Heat conduction to other areas is minimized.

What type of facial wrinkles can be treated with the Aluma Skin Renewal System?
Wrinkles that can be treated include: peri-ocular (crows-feet around the eyes), peri-oral (around the mouth and upper lip), forehead, glabella (frown wrinkles) and cheek (smile wrinkles).  Aluma treatment is best suited for treating fine to moderate facial wrinkles and skin laxity.

Who can be treated?
Aluma is not affected by skin color, tanning or any other characteristic. Anyone wanting to treat mild to moderate wrinkles to achieve smoother skin can be treated.

What can I expect?
Aluma is comfortable.  A revolutionary technology called FACES (Functional Aspiration Controlled Electro thermal Stimulation) results in energy deposited deep in the skin without affecting the skin’s surface and is virtually pain free.  Skin is gently drawn into the tip of the hand piece.  Energy is delivered resulting in a gentle warming of the deeper layers of the skin.  A treatment typically takes about 45 minutes.  A series of treatments are recommended for best results. Fine lines and skin laxity improve as new collagen is deposited in the dermis. Although some improvement will be seen initially the skin will continue to improve for several months after the last treatment as new collagen is deposited.
